Bring on the Botched in Male Plastic Surgery

Boobs. They used to be a simple thing — something I have, something all other females have, something I never paid that much attention to, until shows like E!’s “Botched” came out.

If you’ve never watched the show, consider yourself lucky, because once you see some of the stuff on there, it can never be unseen — and I mean ever. While I’ve heard plenty of horror stories about plastic surgeries gone wrong, I never knew how real the problem was, until I saw it with my own eyes on the big screen.

Still, even though these botched boob jobs are without-a-doubt downright alarming to look at, I have to admit — I can’t get enough of ’em. For me, “Botched” is like that horror movie you love to hate; you know that it’s going to give you nightmares, but still, you just can’t look away. Even worse, now, I find myself looking everywhere I go.

You think I’m joking? While some may enjoy birdwatching, boob-watching is more the name of my game these days. And, this summer especially, I’ve been taking it much more seriously than I’d like to admit. Let’s just say that my beach days are no longer filled with simply taking a swim, but more along the lines of staring at all of the tata’s around me. Yes, I know how creepy this sounds.

The thing is, these popular shows like “Botched” and all of the celebrity plastic surgery makeovers that have been busting in the headlines have officially consumed my head; and now more than ever, I’m noticing what’s real, what’s fake, and what’s been completely butchered.

And let me tell ya, bad boob jobs are all around us, and I’ve been catching glimpses of them left and right… and as you can probably guess, it isn’t pretty.

Still, my issue isn’t with plastic surgery. If getting a little work done will give you that extra boost of confidence, by all means — go for it. The thing is, people really need to think twice about who it is they’re going to.

Going under the knife is a big deal, and if you don’t go about it the right way, it can be an even bigger mistake. Choosing a doctor that’s right for you is a huge decision that shouldn’t be rushed. Remember: good things come to those who wait, and even better things come to those who do their research.

Plus, there’s no such thing as a stupid question — in fact, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons suggests that you ask a whole lot of them:

Although Dr. Douglas Steinbrech is better known as the Godfather of Male Plastic Surgery, he reigns supreme as one of Manhattan’s best plastic surgeons. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons, under the American Board of Medical Specialties. Mommy Makeover Manhattan was built on the philosophy to perform minimally invasive techniques on all patients in both surgical and non-surgical procedures.

Dr. Steinbrech received top-notch training over an eight-year period at New York University in General Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive surgery. Due to his extensive training and work in the field, the Consumers’ Research Council has dubbed him as one of America’s Top Plastic Surgeons.

Slim The Chin: Kybella Treatments in NYC

Kybella Patients in NYC

Many people in NYC are often self-conscious or unsatisfied about the disproportions of their facial structure, or the volume in their face which creates an off-balanced fullness in their overall aesthetic appearance. Weight loss and gain can also contribute to the effects of a face that is not sculpted, looking unshapely. Tightening of this area is need in order to soften this unwanted sagging skin.

Until now patients who wanted to decrease the fat surrounding their chin (medically known as “submental fullness”) would have to undergo liposuction—which, as a surgical procedure. As a substitute treatment, this makes Kybella a huge deal!

The FDA has approved the ultimate cosmetic solution, with no incisions or downtime and recovery. Kybella injections possess the active ingredient, deoxycholic acid dissolving fat and reducing moderate to severe deposits under the chin. Deoxycholic acid is an endogenous bile acid that solubilizes dietary fat in the gut. Kybella contains synthetically derived deoxycholic acid. When the drug is injected into subcutaneous fat tissue, it solubilizes lipids in adipocyte membranes. The resulting cytolysis induces an inflammatory response that clears cell debris.

It is the first drug approved for this indication. The drug does not only target the fat cells, it will also destroy the dermal tissue and skin cells. This allows dermatologists, technician specialists and plastic surgeons the ability to remold the chin designing a chiseled and desired, ideal results for Kybela male candidates in LA.

“Many patients and consumers simply do not want a knife, they want a needle,” explains Male Plastic Surgery expert Dr. Douglas Steinbrech.

How Does Kybella Work?

Kybella is a synthetic version of the deoxycholic acid produced by our bodies to aid in fat absorption. In the body, the acid dissolves fat cells as part of the digestive process. In this application, a certified aesthetic professional injects the synthetic version into submental fat. The injection breaks up fat cells by rupturing their membranes. Fat cells are permanently dissolved and metabolized by the body

However, if a patient has excess fat and skin, it may require a more traditional method of removal such as a Neck Lift. Doctors administering Kybella are advised to screen for patients who have excessive skin in the chin area or “other conditions for which decreasing of submental fat may result in an unfavorable outcome.

Using the facial filler formula Kybella, board- certified plastic surgeon Dr. Steinbrech, and proclaimed ‘Godfather of Male Plastic Surgery’, discusses the newest non-surgical injectable treatment for removing the fat under the chin, more commonly referred to as the ‘double chin’. For many, the double chin ranks high among appearance-related concerns.

All Men Are Not Created Equal Featured in Cosmetic Surgery Times

Contrary to the U.S. Declaration of Independence, not all men are created equal or identify themselves equally.

Dr. SteinbrechThese contradictions have propelled Douglas Steinbrech, M.D., FACS, a plastic and reconstructive surgeon with locations in Manhattan and Beverly Hills, to create different categories for men to identify with on his website

“There are many different types of men,” Dr. Steinbrech tellsCosmetic Surgery Times. “Initially, the website was to educate men,” he says. “However, the website has also really increased the volume of men in my practice.”

Case in point, upon opening his practice, in Manhattan, 12 years ago, Dr. Steinbrech’s clientele comprised about 80% women and 20% men. Today, the practice treats roughly 80% men and 20% women.

Three years ago, to help drive male business, Dr. Steinbrech created four categories of males on his website: the model (or in Los Angeles, the actor), the athletic dad, the bodybuilder and the CEO/boardroom executive. Each category also lists several recommended procedures.

The Model

“The most popular procedure for the model is abdominal sculpting,” Dr. Steinbrech says. “Through hidden incisions, I sculpt the abs and achieve a dramatic reduction of fat to the flanks of the love handles.”

The second most popular procedure is a male model “makeover” that creates a chiseled Superhero jawline via fillers or permanent implants. Of the two, “we usually use fillers to inject into the cheekbone and accentuate the jawline and the chin,” Dr. Steinbrech explains. “I always tell my model patients that every guy has a better-looking ‘twin’ working in Hollywood. That counterpart has slightly higher cheekbones, a little wider jawline and a more projecting chin. By tweaking, we want to create this better-looking twin.”

Dr. Steinbrech says “twin” is the ideal word to convey to patients. “We don’t want the patient to look like someone else,” he explains. “We still want the patient to look like himself and appear natural; in other words, the best-looking version.”

The Althletic Dad

The athletic dad also wants sculpted abs, perhaps along with a stronger chest and some submental liposuction or Kybella (Allergan) to erase a double chin.

The “Daddy Do-Over” is Dr. Steinbrech’s version of the Mommy Makeover that includes liposuction and high-def liposcultping of the abs, love handles and neck. “These patients are now focusing on their jobs and families, so they have sort of let go the body they had in their 20s,” Dr. Steinbrech says.

The Bodybuilder

The third male category, the bodybuilder, entails intense sculpting. “I call my set of principals ‘BodyBanking®,’ which is somewhat similar to bodybuilding but with fat,” Dr. Steinbrech notes. “With my patent-pending technique, I suck out the fat from the flanks, the lower chest and the abs, then I reinject that fat into the upper chest for a bigger chest, into the shoulders, the biceps, the triceps, the calves and even into the six-pack.”

According to Dr. Steinbrech, BodyBanking® prevents the fat from returning to the areas where it was removed, adds bulk to the newly transferred-fat areas, and keeps fat from popping up into new areas like intra-abdominal visceral fat.

Silicone implants for the chest, calves, forearms, abdomen, shoulders, biceps and triceps are also popular in this category.

The Executive

The executive type of male is seeking a cleaner neckline and fresher eyes, which often means an upper and lower blepharoplasty and/or a neck lift. “This patient wants to look better in the boardroom and be able to compete with the younger guys,” Dr. Steinbrech says.

In June, the website added a fifth male category: “The Biggest Winner,” a play on the popular TV reality show “The Biggest Loser,” which targets men who have gone through massive weight loss, mostly as a result of gastric bypass, with lingering excess skin that is addressed with any or all of the various body part lifts.

“These patients require circumferential body lifts,” says Dr. Steinbrech, who has developed a swimsuit lift, which conceals incisions lower, beneath the swimsuit line. “Currently, a lot of physicians make the same incision then they would for a woman—high upon the thigh and wrap around as if the man would be wearing a women’s one-piece bathing suit.”

Of the five categories, the male model represents about 30% of Dr. Steinbrech’s patients, followed by the athletic dad (20%), “The Biggest Winner” (20%), the bodybuilder (15%) and the executive (15%).

Dr. Steinbrech encourages other cosmetic practices to understand their own local male patient types, based on practice location. “For example, if you practice in South Carolina, there may not be a lot of actors or models,” he says.

Stratifying patients also helps to create an understanding of realistic aesthetic outcomes and allows people to identify with specific procedures.

What You Need To Know About Male Liposcution in NYC

The term “Liposuction” has been coined as a misconception. When we think of this surgical procedure, we automatically think that any individual that is severely overweight or morbidly obese are the perfect, ideal candidates, however, this could not be further from the truth.

To begin, what exactly is liposuction?

Liposuction is an invasive surgical procedure that is used on individuals who have small “problem areas” of fat that do not budge with regular diet and exercise. This technique helps remove stubborn body fat from select areas to help shape and contour the body resulting in a more attractive physique as you will be thinner and leaner in your overall appearance.

Being the single most popular cosmetic surgery in the United States, more and more individuals are turning to liposuction as a solution to their stagnant, unwanted body fat. The liposuction technique can help remove stubborn body fat from the stomach, abdomen, waist, hips, thighs, buttocks, chin, cheeks, neck, upper arm region, and the knees. Not only does this procedure help remove body fat that doesn’t respond to regular or vigorous diet and exercise, it also ensures that there will be no return of fat in those treated areas.

Many people believe that any individual with excessive body fat or is extremely overweight is the perfect candidate for liposuction, however this is a common misconception that has been associated with the procedure for quite some time.

In this video, Dr. Steinbrech breaks down who the ideal candidate is for a liposuction procedure.

First, we learn that this procedure is commonly confused as a generalized weight loss solution which is categorically untrue. Dr. Steinbrech states that if an individual is grossly overweight or obese, somewhere between 30+ lbs. overweight, than he advises the patient to go on a diet. These individuals are not ideal candidates for liposuction because they are not in good standing health physically.

Dr. Steinbrech then educates us on who the ideal candidates for liposuction are which are individuals over the age of 18, regularly go to the gym to incorporate exercise into their daily routine, watches his or her own body weight, is within 25 lbs. of their ideal weight, and has small, stubborn areas that they wish to be removed.

It is extremely important that all individuals that are considering this procedure keep in mind that this procedure is not a weight loss solution and will not eliminate existing stretch marks or cellulite. This procedure is meant to remove only small, localized concentrations of fatty deposits.

Male Plastic Surgery Skyrocketing With Pricey ‘Daddy-Do-Overs’
Contributing Writer

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all? Step aside, Snow White; men are paying closer attention to their reflections and investing in their looks with a newfound openness to cosmetic surgery.

Over the past 20 years, men seeking nips and tucks have shot up more than 325 percent, according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. In order of popularity, men are lining up for nose jobs (rhinoplasty), eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), breast reduction (gynecomastia), liposuction, and face-lifts, reports the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and now account for more than 10 percent of plastic surgery patients.

While women have long felt the social implications of a world obsessed with youth, experts say that men are now feeling more of that pinch. “The reality is that the job market is fierce, and many of my patients come in to look and feel younger to boost their self-confidence,” says New York City plastic surgeon Douglas S. Steinbrech, MD, who specializes in male cosmetic surgery. “Guys want to stay competitive in the board room and feel and look good to clients and colleagues,” he says.

Is a chiseled jawline the new version of a shiny red midlife-crisis convertible? In addition to CEO and boardroom executive types, Steinbrech sees a lot of athletic men staving off the so-called “dad bod” with a “daddy-do-over” that tightens sagging faces and sucks away love handles and beer bellies that have slowly crept on over a couple of decades. Steinbrech even performs pectoral and butt implants on some male patients who want to recapture the jock look of college days gone by.

Whatever you may fancy, looking good doesn’t come cheap. Nose jobs, liposuction, and male breast reduction cost anywhere from $5K to $8K each on average, and face-lifts can run about $12,000. Eyelid surgery, which is approximately $5,000, is often an add-on to other anti-aging procedures for a completely refreshed look, since the eye area is often the first and most noticeable area to age.

Millennial men are also heading in to the cosmetic surgeon’s office, much earlier than generations before them, who often waited until retirement years to address advanced aging issues. They’re much more open and comfortable with the idea of plastic surgery, says Steinbrech. This age group tends to opt for more affordable injectable fillers and “Bro-tox,” which are often priced from only a couple hundred to a few hundred dollars and yet still significantly refresh the face.

Part of the draw is that cosmetic surgery — when performed by a board-certified and experienced doctor — is having far more natural results on men these days. Fears that you’ll end up looking like an aging D-list celebrity in a tabloid headline are diminishing. This month, Kybella, the recently FDA-approved injectable that dissolves neck fat, has been running a television commercial that stars the impressive before-and-after shots of a man looking to make his genetic double chin history.

Meanwhile, at cosmetic surgery community, interest in nonsurgical hair-loss treatments have skyrocketed among male readers, who are most concerned with taking action against their receding hairlines. Consumers visited the site to research and view before-and-after photos twice as much this year as compared with last year, show site metrics.

Follicular Unit Extraction — or FUE — remains the gold standard for both hair transplantation and hair restoration, says Austin, Texas, plastic surgeon Jennifer L. Walden, MD. SmartGraft is a new device that more quickly harvests hair grafts and places them in balding areas, so hair follicles have a better chance of surviving for fuller results. Either procedure starts at about $8,000 to $10,000 and can quickly rack up much higher, depending on the size of the treatment area and the time it takes to do the procedure.

Hair transplant, before and after (one year of 2,608 grafts), performed by New York dermatologic surgeon Robert M. Bernstein, MD. (Photo: M. Bernstein, MD)

Younger men aren’t leaving those hairlines to chance; Walden says she sees more men with premature thinning who want to intercept the process before it gets too visually noticeable. “Patients are more apt to call or consult for hair-loss treatments today and not feel embarrassed — cultural shifts have occurred, and cosmetic procedures are just more accepted and understood by the mainstream public,” says Walden.

Alex, a 30-something who works in financial services in New York City, recently had the popular FUE hair transplant. As someone who is sharply groomed and who works out regularly, he saw it as an extension of how he likes to present and take care of himself, both in his personal and professional life. “It’s vanity. I didn’t like the thinning and recession of my front hairline, so I handled it,” he tells Yahoo Beauty.

He paid $11,000 for the procedure and worked from home while recovering for a few days afterward, though he says the raw redness of his scalp took a couple of weeks to subside. And he learned that cosmetic surgery isn’t a magic wand and that expectations must be managed. “It is definitely an improvement, and I’m glad I did it — having said that, I expected there to be fuller coverage of the places where the hair follicles were plugged in,” he says. Would he consider other procedures? “If I felt Botox or a neck-lift were necessary at some future point, I’d consider — and maybe even more, if technology improves,” says Alex.

With male demand for cosmetic procedures only gaining, we think it’s a safe bet that cosmetic technology will do exactly that.

male-plastic-surgery-ny-infographicDr. Douglas Steinbrech enlightens us with a new trend in the beauty industry, as well as a cultural shift within our society. Men are now paying more attention and investing more into their appearance with cosmetic plastic surgery procedures and/or nonsurgical treatments for both a more youthful face and sculpted physique. Statistics confirm as far back as 2012, one million cosmetic procedures were performed just on male patients seeking an improved aesthetic, solidifying a 106% increase since 1997 in male plastic surgery – over the last 20 years or so.

With the competitive job market often cited as the main motivating factor for men to get plastic surgery, the Top Five Male Plastic Surgery Procedures which most are opting for are as follows:

 1. Liposuction — with a shelf life of 10-20 years for abs and thighs, and 10-15 years for the neck, liposuction may cost men anywhere between $2,700 – $5,000. The cost of pain however is a 5/10 with just two days of recovery time.
 1. Rhinoplasty (nose job) — with a permanent shelf life, rhinoplasty may cost men anywhere between the range of $2,700 – $5,000. The cost of pain however is a 5/10 with just two days of recovery time.

 1. Gynecomastia (male breast reduction) — with a permanent shelf life, gynecomastia may cost men anywhere between the range of $1,500 – $5,000. The cost of pain however is a 6/10 with 2-3 days of recovery time.

However, these aren’t the only surgical procedures that are highly sought after by men in today’s society, neck-lifts, chin implants, pectoral implants, and even buttock implants are becoming progressively popular as well.

Top 3 Cosmetic Procedures Amongst Men In NYC

While it’s no secret that women have been undergoing cosmetic procedures for quite some time, now more than ever, more and more men have been hopping on the trend. In fact, according to one of America’s Top Plastic Surgeons, Dr. Douglas Steinbrech, men in New York City in particular are “increasingly looking for a more youthful appearance.”

But, just what cosmetic procedures are they undergoing to achieve it? According to Dr. Steinbrech, here are the top three techniques that men are “starting to have much, much more of”:

 1. Botox:

As the most popular cosmetic procedure in the U.S., it’s no surprise that Botox is also one of the most requested services among men in NYC.

Botox Cosmetic treatments can not only prevent men from deepening lines during natural facial movements, but they can also erase the signs of aging, leaving them looking younger and refreshed.

Although Botox is not a surgical procedure, it is very important to choose a highly experienced and qualified physician for Botox treatments for men in NYC. Doctors who are less familiar with the technique could leave you looking “frozen” or overfilled.

Dr. Steinbrech has successfully treated hundreds of patients with Botox Cosmetic filler as a skilled physician with a highly sought after expertise. Dr. Steinbrech first consults with his patients considering Botox Cosmetic filler before beginning injections to understand what he wants to achieve as the desired results. Injections are done to correct the problem area(s) so that all of his patients are happy with their result of smoother, younger-looking faces.

 1. Fillers:

Dr. Steinbrech explains that more and more men in NYC are asking for fillers, as they can do a lot to restore facial volume and create a more youthful appearance. These are the top three fillers all the guys are going for:

 • Restylanehas been used safely by dermatologists and plastic surgeons since 1996 worldwide. Restylane is designed to smooth wrinkles, sculpt lips and shape facial contours for male patients in NYC. The most common areas for treatment are the lines between the eyebrows and the folds from the root of the nose to the angle of the mouth. With its unique ability to bind with water, Restylane offers the benefit of longer lasting results by remaining in your skin for many months.
 • Radiesse is a synthetic injectable filler that reduces wrinkles, creases and scars by augmenting the body’s natural collagen supply for male patients in NYC. Composed of microspheres in a biocompatible gel, Radiesse is made from the same minerals found in our bones, so it carries little risk of allergic reaction.
 • Sculptra counteracts the loss of fat beneath the skin (a condition called lipoatrophy). Sculptra is injected into the deep dermis layer of the skin to improve the appearance of sunken cheeks, hollow eyes, indentations and wrinkles. Its main component is an alpha hydroxy acid that has been used for 20 years in surgical products such as dissolvable sutures. Results can last up to two years for male patients.
 1. Eyelifts:

Aside from Botox and fillers, men in NYC are taking things a step further by highly requesting eyelifts, which Dr. Steinbrech says “can do a lot to create a more awake, a more youthful appearance in men.”

Eyelid surgery, also known as blepharoplasty, improves the look of the upper and/or lower eyelids for a fresher, younger appearance. Dr. Steinbrech specializes in upper and lower eyelift surgery for men in NYC. Puffiness and/or drooping of the skin surrounding the eyes is a tell-tale sign of age for men. In some cases, the drooping or hooding of the eyelid can even begin to impair vision.

Bye Bye, Man Boobs

All summer long. Scorching hot days. At the beach. At the pool. Even on vacation. No matter where he went or what he was doing, my cousin refused to take his shirt off. Pretty strange for a guy, huh? Well, not as strange as you just might think…

Gynecomastia. That’s what my cousin suffered from, and while it definitely made him feel like an outcast, the truth was he was far from it. Also known as “man boobs,” Gynecomastia is the condition of enlarged male breast tissue, and believe it or not, it affects an estimated 40 to 60 percent of the male population — leaving most men feeling embarrassed, emotionally distressed, and with low self-esteem. Although my cousin felt alone every time he would hide his body under a baggy shirt, there’s unfortunately plenty of guys out there doing just the same, feeling ashamed and uncomfortable in their own skin — pretty much living within their own personal prison.

Understanding Gynecomastia:

Here’s the basics on what you need to know — Gynecomastia is excess localized chest fat, excess glandular tissue development, and/or even a combination of both. It can be present in either one or both of the breasts, but it doesn’t have to be there to stay forever.

In severe cases of gynecomastia, the weight of excess breast tissue may cause the breasts to sag and stretch the areola (the dark skin surrounding the nipple). In these cases the position and size of the areola can be surgically improved and excess skin may be reduced.

Gynecomastia is a condition of over-developed or enlarged breasts in men that can occur at any age. The condition can be the result of hormonal changes, heredity, obesity or the use of certain drugs.

Gynecomastia surgery can help to restore a flatter, firmer appearance to the male chest… a.k.a. it was the answer to my cousin’s prayers.

Determining whether or not you’re the right candidate:

For many men, Gynecomastia can cause serious self-esteem and confidence issues. These men often turn to diet and exercise to try to rid themselves their “man boobs,” however that still may not correct the appearance of enlarged breasts. If you feel you’ve done all you can do, and are still unhappy, your next best move may be to give Dr. Steinbrech a call.

Adolescents may benefit from surgery, although secondary procedures may be needed in the future should breast development continue.

How EASY the surgery is:

Gynecomastia only takes approximately 1-2 hours. Dr. Steinbrech will make a small incision on each side of your chest from which he will remove the excess fat. If more extensive tissue removal is needed, he will make incisions in the peri-areola position for inconspicuous healing. Your chest will be tightened and contoured with careful attention to natural, masculine results.

…And the recovery:

Your male breast reduction surgery will yield immediate results. Men are often astounded at the significant change in their chest and their more confident outlook on life after the procedure.

No overnight stay is needed after your gynecomastia surgery, but you should arrange for a friend or family member to drive you home after the surgery and assist you.

The total recovery time for gynecomastia surgery is 4-6 weeks depending on how your body is healing. Just after the procedure you will wear a tight male vest for compression; this is easily hidden under normal clothing. If only liposuction was performed, you will back to work the next day. If more extensive tissue was removed, you will be able to return to work within 2-3 days. In either case, you should avoid strenuous activity for 7-10 days. Soreness and tightness will gradually decrease as will the appearance of your scars.

Facial Fat Injections Offer The Fulfillment You Need

Hours on hours, days on days, weeks on weeks, and even years on years — that’s how long some people spend in the gym trying to achieve physical perfection. While determination and dedication are major keys to success, let’s be real: sometimes we can all still use a little extra help.

Personally, I’ve lost count of the amount of times that I wished I could simply just transfer fat from one part of my body to another, and chances are, I’m sure you have too. And while I always thought it was one very far-fetched quick fix, the truth is, it’s not so crazy after all.

For my couch-potato self, I have to admit that the idea seemed like a dream come true (who doesn’t love an easy way out?!), but for my iron-pumping boyfriend, I figured it was one that never even crossed his mind. He didn’t take the easy way out. He didn’t just wish for the perfect body. Instead, day in and day out, he put in the work to achieve it.

So, on the day that he came home and told me he would be undergoing a minor plastic surgery procedure, I couldn’t believe my ears… until he explained.

Naturally, my boyfriend was a skinny kid. He wasn’t big-boned, he wasn’t stocky, he was a “stringbean,” as he put it. And although he was able to transform his body in the gym, his face was a different story.

His body bulked up in ways he never thought were even possible, so much so, that he felt his face no longer matched.

“I look sick,” he explained to me. “My face is so hollow. I can do all the workouts in the world, but they’re aren’t any to strengthen up my face structure.” So, he turned to Dr. Steinbrech.

Just like my boyfriend, other muscular men in NYC and LA can benefit from Dr. Steinbrech’s facial fat injections by gaining fullness throughout their face. Facial fat injections involve the transfer of fat from one area of the body to be injected into the desired areas of the face. The fat cells can be used to add fullness under the eyes, in the lips, and cheeks, all delivering a natural looking result.

After the facial fat injections, not only did my boyfriend see immediate results, but I did too — I saw that for seemingly the first time ever, he finally felt like himself.

While muscles may be made in the gym, a full, flawless face is made in Dr. Steinbrech’s office.

How it works:

Little preparation is needed for facial fat transfer, but smoking must be avoided leading up to and post-procedure for a few weeks.

Facial fat injection results are immediate for male patients in NYC. Directly following your injections, enhancements may appear greater than your final result. The amount of fat injected into the face must be greater than the amount needed, (as fat is absorbed into the body) extra fat cells allow for the right amount of volume for your desired final result. After your fat injection consultation with Dr. Steinbrech, you will have a clear understanding of your projected result.

Gordon Ramsey Serves Up Some Youth

Gordon-RamsayThe foul mouthed and all too intimidating British chef, Gordon Ramsay has been growing in popularity as the spotlight brings him closer into the limelight. The TV personality had finally surrendered to the vicious world of Hollywood after they had made extreme remarks about his physical appearance. Ramsay’s constant facial expression conveys an all too frightening demeanor as we know just how short of a fuse the celebrity chef really has.

Ramsay had never been the type to worry about how he looks to other people, especially on screen. His talent and personality did all of the work for him. However, it wasn’t until the people closest to him spoke up about how his appearance was a direct reflection of how the public perceived him and how the media was representing him.

We get it, Ramsay doesn’t seem like the type who would succumb to trivial things such as looking good or changing his appearance to please the public eye. However, Hollywood and the media can be very cruel when it comes to a person’s image. Appearance is everything, especially in the world of stardom.

Ramsay expresses how he would read the vicious things written about him in the tabloids, describing him as “craggy-face, map of Wales, ugly, deflated rugby ball”, as the list goes on and on. His own children have even asked him why he has so many wrinkles on his face, while his daughter has even tried to squeeze coins into the deep creases on his face.

According to the Daily Mail, a fellow Brit and Hollywood veteran also has given Ramsay a push to go under the knife. Simon Cowell who is no stranger to the world of Botox and fillers had advised Ramsay that getting minor work done will help his likability and will appear more pleasing to the eyeballs watching him on television. His overall persona is intimidating in itself, so softening his look will increase his charismatic star power and clean up his rugged, harsh features.

One uncomfortable incident that Ramsay had experienced was when a professional makeup artist asked him if he had been involved in a car accident as a child and if he had went through the windshield. These negative responses to his skin, specifically around his chin, mouth and forehead, really began to take a toll.

Ramsay has openly admitted that he too has grown uncomfortable with the deep lines and wrinkles on his forehead and the diagonal creases on his chin. He has even gone as far as comparing himself to Scarface. The restaurateur hasn’t always felt this way about his appearance, however his children are who had driven him to become more paranoid with how bad his skin looked.

Ramsay B and A

Unlike many of the Hollywood stars that go under the knife, Ramsay did not go out of his way to hide the truth of the scenario. Although, his stance on the matter is quite comical as he toldMirror, “No one noticed until I mentioned it. When you don’t say anything, you’re classified as a liar, so you can’t win. It’s got me more s**t in the past 6 months.”

He has claimed to have gotten laser, not Botox, although there have been other news outlets quoting him for speaking on Botox which seems accurate since his face looks more plump and youthful than it normally does. In an uncomfortable four minute procedure, he had a few pricks on each side of his face. However in an all too strange way, Ramsay had claimed that the brilliant man that worked on him refused to touch his forehead (and we can’t seem to figure out why). We’ve never taken the in-your-face hard-a** as a fibber, but then again who really knows?

Shortly after more rumors had begun to surface, fans and onlookers had speculated that he had gotten way more done than just a laser treatment or fillers. The gossip suggests that he has gotten Botox, facial fillers, veneers, a hair transplant and a facelift. We aren’t sure just how accurate these accusations are, but judging by his current appearance, we don’t think he went that far.

Until of course, a weird case of a snowball effect had spun the media and sent us all through a whirlwind. Strangely enough, shortly after his procedure, Ramsay was spotted leaving a hair clinic with a cap covering his scalp. Then, shortly following his exit route from the Beverly Hills clinic, he was spotted looking extremely puffy and swollen. His response to all the rising gossip surrounding his appearance? He was out shooting in Costa Rica where a group of bandits poured gasoline all over him. Following this odd-sounding story, things just started to sound even weirder. Not too long after this mishap, Ramsay and his family were vacationing for holiday where they spent two weeks in Napa. When the family had gone horseback riding, the vulgar chef explains how he had a terrible allergic reaction to the horse on top of his recent scalp problem, he refers to the long stint of unfortunate events as a “hair nightmare”.

The strange reality of Ramsay’s situation is not the act itself of getting work done as men’s plastic surgery is no longer considered a taboo, rather his all too extreme “story” explaining his puffy faced appearance. Dr. Douglas Steinbrech, a Manhattan-based plastic surgeon who specializes in male plastic surgery told Business Insider, “Over the last three to five years, there’s been a huge boom in men’s aesthetic surgery. Out practice has seven websites, one exclusively for men, and many of our patients now are male. It’s a very big misconception that all patients are women.”

The rising trend in the realm of male plastic surgery has grown in popularity and now more than ever men are seeking treatments to help return their youth to their appearance. Botox or not, the dirty mouthed chef is still whipping up delicious meals and serving up a huge slice of sarcasm, Scarface or not, we’ve gotta love him!
