Deviated Septum: Symptoms, Causes, and Rhinoplasty (Nose Job)

A deviated septum occurs when the thin wall that separates your nasal passages, known as the nasal septum, is displaced to one side. This causes the nasal septum to be off-centered and in turn, leads to the nasal passage being smaller than usual. While this condition does impact the physical appearance of your nose, a severe case can lead to some health problems too. If one side of your nose is severely blocked, it can be difficult to breathe, cause nose bleeds, and reduce the overall airflow through your nose.

What Are the Causes Of A Deviated Septum?

There can be several factors that might cause a deviated septum. At times, this condition is present at birth and most likely occurred due to some issues regarding fetal development. However, someone with a perfectly fine nose can also develop this condition as a result of a nose injury that leads to the position of the nasal septum being moved out of its proper position. The range of such nose injuries can differ significantly as well.

Sometimes during childbirth, a newborn might experience such an injury. Amongst kids and adults, accidents involving sports, driving, or any other kind of physical activity of this sort can lead to these kinds of nose injuries. Additionally, some people might develop a deviated septum as they age due to the nasal cavities becoming narrower over time and eventually leading to the nasal passages being uneven on both sides.

What Are Symptoms Of A Deviated Septum?

The symptoms that can be used to characterize a deviated septum fall on a varying spectrum. While some symptoms might go unnoticed, other symptoms can become a serious health complication to live with. Firstly, the most obvious symptom would be the blockage of your nostrils, which can make it especially hard to breathe when you have a cold. Allergies can make your nasal passages narrow down or swell up, further making the situation even more uncomfortable. One of the most annoying symptoms would have to be nosebleeds that are caused by the surface of your nasal septum becoming dry.

While some are still unsure about whether or not a deviated symptom actually causes face pain, it is still considered a possible symptom of a severely deviated septum where the surface within the nose touches and the pressure created by it can lead to one-sided facial pain. Another symptom that might not bother the person who has this condition, but others around them, is noisy breathing when sleeping. The swelling of the intranasal tissues causes breathing to be noisy during sleep. One last symptom that is a bit more personal would be the preference of the side on which a person with a deviated septum chooses to sleep on. Reasonably, many would prefer to sleep on the side where their nasal passage is wider rather than the side where it is narrower, in order to make it easier and more comfortable to breathe during sleep.

Can You Get Rhinoplasty For a Deviated Septum?

The only way to correct a deviated septum as of now is through surgery, specifically, through rhinoplasty. While rhinoplasty, more commonly known as a nose job, is used by people to fix their nose in terms of visual aesthetics, it can also be a great treatment for airway restriction and the difficulty in breathing that is caused by a deviated septum. When it comes to getting this type of surgery for this particular condition, most people get the procedure that involves rhinoplasty along with another type of nose surgery called septoplasty. This combined procedure is called septorhinoplasty.

While rhinoplasty focuses on the external shape of the nose, septoplasty involves strengthening the bone and cartilage diving up your nostrils, or as implied by its name, the septum. Getting both surgeries together not only ensures the best possible results both internally and externally it also makes the healing process much easier. In addition, getting both of these surgeries done at the same time is much less expensive.

Can you get plastic surgery to remove body fat?

While it’s common to struggle with weight loss, stubborn body fat can stick around despite a healthy diet and regular exercise routine. In recent years, plastic surgery techniques in New York have proven successful in removing excess fat cells and sculpting a slimmer body. These include non-surgical and minimally invasive treatments but ultimately it depends on the weight and amount of fat deposits present in the patient, in addition to the desired outcome. Although plastic surgery is not considered the optimal method for weight loss, you can get plastic surgery to remove body fat.

Do I need surgery to remove body fat?

Whether you’ve undergone extreme weight loss or have always struggled to lose fat that’s resistant to diet and exercise, it’s not impossible to look and feel your best. Know that you’re not alone and that certain areas of the body are predisposed to store fat. Factors like gender, genetics, physical activity, and caloric intake also play a part. Through body sculpting and contouring procedures, you can attain the figure you’ve always wanted.

Can You Get Plastic Surgery to remove body fat men

Body fat removal with plastic surgery is not an option for everyone, and typically should only be sought after by adults in good health and who are within 30% of their ideal weight. Whenever considering an aesthetic procedure, it is important that you be assessed in person by a board-certified plastic surgeon who understands your needs and anatomy.

How to remove body fat with plastic surgery

According to Dr. Douglas Steinbrech, there are a few effective methods to remove body fat. Here are three plastic surgery procedures that he offers at his practice:

Liposuction

Liposuction is repeatedly the most requested aesthetic procedure amongst men in the US. A common misconception is that people consider liposuction to be a weight loss procedure. In reality, it is only able to remove small, localized fat—10 pounds or less. It’s a technique that helps to shape and contour the body by removing unwanted fat from the abdomen, waist, hips, thighs, and more. It’s an effective treatment for ensuring that these aforementioned areas do not accumulate fatty deposits in the future.

Some of the limitations associated with liposuction include:

  • It will not remove or reduce the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks
  • It won’t tighten loose, hanging or sagging skin
  • Body liposuction will make you look slimmer, but not necessarily change your weight

CoolSculpting

CoolSculpting is a non-surgical alternative to removing body fat for patients who are averse to anesthesia, needles or incisions. The procedure itself uses a unique device to naturally destroy fat cells by freezing them away. There is no downtime following a CoolSculpting session, but typically it is required to undergo additional treatments over several weeks to see complete results. After just one session, however, CoolSculpting studies have noted a 25% fat reduction.

If you’re interested in fat freezing, know that some of the limitations include:

  • The results are contingent on a healthy diet and exercise routine
  • The results from CoolSculpting are identified between a three and four-month period
  • The procedure likely requires multiple sessions

BodyBanking

Dr. Steinbrech developed a plastic surgery procedure known as BodyBanking®, which allows the transfer of fat from one part of the body to another. This is commonly performed while a patient undergoes liposuction by removing a patient’s own body fat from unwanted parts of the body and inject it into the desired areas of the body. These areas can include the pecs, glutes, biceps, triceps, shoulders and even calves.

A few things to consider about BodyBanking® are:

How Dr. Steinbrech Became the Top Plastic Surgeon for Men

Last week, Jeremy Ryan Slate of the Create Your Own Life Podcast interviewed Male Plastic Surgery NY founder Dr. Douglas Steinbrech. Slate explores how Dr. Steinbrech became one of the nation’s top plastic surgeons and dominated in an otherwise challenging market using the blue ocean strategy.

In this episode, Dr. Steinbrech takes listeners through his collegiate journey from the campus of NYU to becoming the most recognized name in male plastic surgery. “I loved the artistry and the creativity of [male aesthetics]. It was organic. When I started my own practice, I was going to do ladies’ facelifts. I started to see men in my practice. So I decided, when I started to see so many men, to make a website. After we made a website, it went viral… Then we expanded and started the Los Angeles Male Plastic Surgery practice.”

“You need to have a good idea, and you need to have a plan. The other thing I learned is, you can’t be afraid to talk about [your idea]… Since I’ve entered the entrepreneurial world, I realized everyone has their own ideas. We all know you need a business plan; it’s got to be a good idea. You have to have execution… don’t be afraid to share your idea.”

Top 5 Male Aesthetic Procedures

Plastic surgery was not always a topic that was discussed so publicly. And historically, women made up the majority of the industry. In recent years, the number of men undergoing or considering aesthetic enhancements has increased. Noticing this demographic shift, surgeons have even started offering non-invasive and surgical treatments that cater to the male anatomy specifically, that diet and exercise alone cannot fix.

At his flagship New York City practice, Dr. Douglas Steinbrech has witnessed this uptick firsthand and in 2014, altered his practice to accommodate his male patients. Men now make up over 80% of his total clientele. What this shows is that men are not immune to the anti-aging bug. And even though the aesthetics industry has been traditionally targeted towards women, statistics have demonstrated that men too are interested in being, and looking, their best. So what were the most commonly requested plastic surgery procedures for men in the past year?

Below, you will notice that liposuction, breast reduction (gynecomastia), eyelid surgery, tummy tuck and rhinoplasty were among the most popular. These physical enhancements can benefit men in the same psychological way they would women, by boosting their confidence. From a man’s perspective, that might give him the competitive advantage he’s been looking for—from new job opportunities to a more active dating life and improved fitness. “In a marketplace where looking fit, younger, and more masculine is imperative, the better you look, the better your chances of ascending the corporate ladder,” said Dr. Steinbrech.

In today’s society, there’s a hyper-focus on wellness and thanks to social media, appearance. Those factors have contributed dramatically to the rise in plastic surgery procedures for men over the past 10 years. Looking to the future, those numbers can only be expected to increase.

Different Types of Facial Implants For Men

Facial implants were designed to permanently reshape and enhance specific features of the face. Just like implants of the body, there is the number of facial implant options to choose from. These implants can be fully customized to meet the specific needs of each individual patient. The implant itself is a solid, synthetic material that is compatible with human tissue, adding body and contour to facial structure. Here are four different types of facial implants for men to choose from.

facial implants for men1. Chin Implant

A chin implant will increase the size and prominence to become proportional to the mid-face and forehead. The implant will be positioned internally right under the bottom lip or under the chin.

Typically, patients who undergo a chin implant have a small chin that disappears into the neck. Not only does this implant improve one’s facial profile, but it also strengthens the chin. If the chin does not fully develop, weakening problems will arise as well as a receding chin. Having a weak chin creates an imbalance of the face, making the nose look larger, midface top-heavy, the lower face looks short, and it de-emphasizes the lips. Results are often dependent on the patient’s desired look.

2. Jaw Implant

A jaw implant is similar to the chin implant as it will create a fuller, more prominent looking jaw. This implant enhances the bone structure and is placed on the jawline, an area known for being associated with an attractive masculine appearance. This augmentation is usually paired with the chin implant to create a fuller lower face, but this pairing is completely optional.

Patients who choose this implant have wide lower faces who want to have a defined jawline. Also, these facial implants are also best for candidates who suffer from overbites, misaligned teeth, open bites, or other abnormal bites that affect one’s appearance.

3. Malar Implants

Malar implants, also known as a cheek implant, increases the projection of the cheekbones. This augmentation is popular for individuals who have a weak facial bone structure. With a malar implant, the cheekbones will go from a flat surface to a more full structure. Because the malar region projects more than any other part of a person’s midface skeleton, the implant will be placed right on top of the existing cheekbone for the best result.

Patients will find that their cheeks are very prominent in their appearance. The more hollow the cheeks are, the older you will look. This causes people to look older than they actually are. Whether it be from aging or simply losing the bone structure (or density), the cheek implants will ensure the fullness of the cheekbone structure.

facial implants for men

4. Nasal Implant

A nasal implant focuses on the shape of the nose. The implant will support the upper and lower lateral of the cartilage. By doing so, cartilage support will create an open airway, making it easier for patients to breathe.

This implant is more popular for individuals who have a hard time breathing. This is usually caused by a trauma-related injury or defects that remain from childhood. Patients who had this procedure found improvements including:

  • Reduced congestion and stuffiness
  • Improved ability to retain air through the nose while exercising
  • Reduced blockage or interference
  • Better sleeping habits
  • Easier to breathe overall through the nose

Determining if You’re a Good Candidate For Facial Implants

Facial implants are best to be performed on individuals whose skull and head have reached physical maturity, usually adulthood. It is also very popular for patients to go through this process after a trauma-related injury that was damaging to the face. Ideal candidates also include those who are non-smokers, are physically healthy, and contain a positive outlook on the procedures with specific and realistic goals for the surgeon to achieve.

Weight Loss Plastic Surgery for Men in NYC

For most men, losing the weight required to maintain a healthy lifestyle is a difficult task. It is important to value the weight on your body, as it can be the source of serious health concerns. Men who are overweight are at risk for a myriad of health issues including diabetes, strokes, heart attack, cancers, and more. Not only will weight loss surgery ease the possibility of a life-threatening condition, but it will also increase the chances of a longer (and happier) life. Listed as Forbes’ go-to surgeon for men, Dr. Steinbrech specializes in weight loss plastic surgery at his NYC practice.

Massive Weight Loss Surgery Options

There are multiple different forms of weight loss surgery that Dr. Steinbrech can perform to help patients achieve desirable and long-lasting results. In order to determine which surgery is best, there will be a consultation beforehand to discuss the following options:

TorsoTuck® Bodylift

The TorsoTuck® was developed by Dr. Steinbrech for male patients who, after achieving massive weight loss, are faced with excess skin that hangs from the torso. This specialized procedure targets this loose skin, leaving the patient with a tighter, more natural-looking chest to complement their weight loss. Unlike typical body lifts, Dr. Steinbrech’s TorsoTuck® procedure targets the male body from all angles, one which aims for minimal scarring and can include other problem areas such as the thighs and the buttocks.

How to Determine Which Is Best for You

Before deciding which option is best for you, there will be an initial consultation in which Dr. Steinbrech will examine your body mass and discuss your cosmetics goals. From this meeting, Dr. Steinbrech will come to a conclusion on which surgery option will be best for each individual case—there is no “one size fits all.” Massive weight loss surgery was created to make your life better and put your body concerns to rest. It reassures the values and importance of a healthy weight and mind. In order to be a candidate, it is vital for your body weight to remain stable for one year.

What To Expect

Many of these surgeries are performed using general amnesia. The length of the surgery will be dependent on the extent of the surgery. The surgeries consist of tightening and repositioning the muscles and skin. The recovery time depends on the type of surgical procedure. In most cases, a patient undergoing a full-body lift will take about 4 to 6 weeks to completely recover. Patients may feel discomfort in the areas of the procedures during the healing process, which makes the downtime even more valuable.

Results

The results of each procedure are astonishing. Dr. Steinbrech has documented the before and after results from a massive weight loss with torso tuck body lift procedure. Patients should see results perfectly after the recovery time.

Jaw Implant for Men in NYC

What is a Jaw Implant?

Jaw implant surgery, or Genioplasty, is a procedure that enhances one’s facial anatomy with the use of a state-of-the-art silicone implant. Jaw augmentation contours the face’s side profile and harmonizes facial symmetry for a more natural, masculine look. Board-certified Dr. Steinbrech specializes in male anatomy. His NYC practice offers various customizable implant sizes and shapes to meet each patient’s unique goal. Dr. Steinbrech’s NYC office also uses the latest in 3D computer imaging technology to manufacture a one-of-a-kinds implant tailored to the needs of each patient. In addition, Dr. Steinbrech may recommend pairing jaw augmentation with Rhinoplasty or Mentoplasty (chin augmentation) to optimize the results of surgery.

How is Jaw Implant Surgery Performed?

Using a local anesthetic, jaw implant surgery takes just 30 minutes to an hour to complete. Following a CT scan and general health assessment, your medical professionals will help you prepare for the procedure. The customized implant is inserted with a tiny incision inside of the patient’s jawline or mouth. This implant can be placed over any bone deficiencies, leaving the patient with a more youthful, chiseled facial shape. After implant surgery, scars are typically non-visible and self-dissolving sutures are placed on the incision. Each implant is made to look and feel natural on the bone.

Who is a Good Candidate for a Jaw Implant?

All patients are advised to be in good health (non-smokers) before considering jaw implant surgery. Candidacy can be further determined during your initial consultation with Dr. Steinbrech at his NYC practice. Altering the appearance of the jaw can greatly improve the balance of the face as well as counteract signs of aging. Jaw implant surgery is best for men looking to improve upon:

  • Facial symmetry due to an injury or accident
  • Natural bone deficiencies in the jawline
  • Chewing dynamics
  • Restore contour due to a congenital condition
  • Weak jawline

Recovery Time

Customized jaw implant surgery is typically followed by mild swelling due to incisions made inside the mouth. However, this swelling usually begins to subside around the 48-hour mark and will resolve within the first month post-procedure. Dr. Steinbrech recommends a soft diet for about the first week as the sutures dissolve inside the mouth. If necessary, antibiotics or medication may be prescribed and patients can return to most normal activities within the first week. It is advised that overtly strenuous exercise be postponed for 14 days. The final results continue to improve by the month. Minor adjustments to oral hygiene are modified post-surgery with the assistance of Dr. Steinbrech’s office.

Cheek Implant for Men in NYC

What is a Cheek Implant?

Cheek implant surgery is often performed to accentuate the cheekbones and improve the appearance of a “flattened” face. There are 3 types of cheek implants which include malar, sub-malar, or both. These implants are placed directly onto the bone, giving the cheek a greater volume and projection. A cheek implant also tightens skin, resulting in a more sculpted, youthful look. Dr. Steinbrech performs cheek implant surgery at his fully-accredited NYC surgical center alone or in conjunction with other procedures such as chin implant surgery to achieve more desirable facial symmetry. Conversely, patients may also choose facial fat injections as an alternative to synthetic cheek implants.

How is Cheek Implant Surgery Performed?

Prior to the cheek implant procedure, your surgeon will help you choose a customizable implant that best suits your situation and desired look. Using a local anesthetic, tiny incisions (of only about 1 tenth of an inch) are made near the cheeks, under the eye, or most commonly, above the gum line. From there, the implant is inserted into either the malar or sub-malar region depending on the goal of surgery. The incisions are closed up with sutures following the procedure’s completion. The full surgery may take anywhere from 1 to 2 hours. All implants require a confidential consultation with Dr. Steinbrech prior to surgery. Each implant is created by Dr. Steinbrech’s team using medical-grade material that mimics the look and feel of natural bone.

Who is a Good Candidate for Cheek Implant Surgery?

The best candidates for cheek augmentation surgery are patients seeking correction of an indistinct or weak cheekbone structure. Cheek implants are often chosen because they offer dramatic yet subtle results. As men age, they lose natural volume in their cheeks and face which can create a “hollow” look. Synthetic cheek implants are also ideal for patients seeking to reverse undesirable facial contours due to genetics. Men in good health are typically good candidates for cheek implants, especially those looking to improve:

  • Deep nasolabial folds
  • Hollow cheeks
  • Sunken under eyes
  • Aging facial skin
  • Sagging jowls

Recovery Time

During recovery, patients are able to return home the same day. Though some moderate swelling around the cheekbones can persist for 2 to 3 days, this usually subsides thereafter. After the 2 week mark, visible signs of swelling should be resolved entirely. However, it may take up a month for all swelling to fully disappear. Dr. Steinbrech may prescribe medication or anti-inflammatories following surgery to make one’s recovery time more comfortable. Sutures in the mouth dissolve but patients are required to make minor adjustments to their oral hygiene routine as the incisions heal. In addition, it is advised that patients stick to a soft diet for the first day. Following this, it is recommended to avoid sharp or hard foods for 1 to 2 months.

Chin Implant for Men in NYC

What is a Chin Implant?

Chin implant surgery, or Mentoplasty, is the process of placing a medical-grade implant into the chin in order to improve the contours of the face. A weak or unpronounced chin is often the culprit of poor facial symmetry which potentially makes one’s nose appear larger than it actually is. A chin implant corrects these deficiencies. Dr. Steinbrech uses extended anatomic silicone implants that can be customized to meet each patient’s individual goals with the latest state-of-the-art shape techniques. Once completed, the implant provides a permanent solution for men looking for a more chiseled and masculine chin. Mentoplasty can be performed alone or in conjunction with other procedures such as Rhinoplasty and Jaw Implants to achieve more desirable facial proportions dependent upon the patient’s needs.

How is Chin Implant Surgery Performed?

Chin implant surgery is typically a fast procedure, taking 30 minutes to an hour to perform. All patients will be given a local anesthetic by a board-certified anesthesiologist chosen by Dr. Steinbrech for safety and comfort. Implants are inserted via a small incision in the patient’s natural crease line below the chin. Scars from this incision are often not visible following the surgery. Underlying or excess tissue is also removed during the procedure, allowing space for the implant to be placed on the mental protuberance (chin bone). All implants require a confidential consultation with Dr. Steinbrech prior to surgery.

*State-of-the-art Implants are made from a medical-grade material that feels like natural bone. They come in all shapes and sizes so that they can be tailored to the individual’s needs.

Who is a Good Candidate for a Chin Implant?

Chin augmentation is used to eliminate a receding or unpronounced chin. In this case, a synthetic implant is best for clients who want to improve their facial projection or balance. Candidacy is determined based on a patient’s health following a confidential consultation with Dr. Steinbrech at his NYC practice. Altering the appearance of the chin can greatly improve a man’s facial symmetry, particularly as it relates to the chin and nose. Mentoplasty is ideal for men looking to improve a:

  • Fleshy neck
  • Pointed chin
  • Prominent nose
  • Weak Chin
  • Recessed or double chin

Recovery Time

Due to small incisions made during chin augmentation, there may be mild discomfort following surgery. This begins to decrease after 3 days and can be diffused with oral medications and anti-inflammatories. After approximately a week post-procedure, most pain will have typically subsided. Minimal swelling is expected and patients may need to sleep with their head elevated for 2 to 3 weeks following chin implant surgery. Dr. Steinbrech advises that strenuous activity be avoided for up to 2 weeks.

10 Types of Silicone Implants for Men

Over the last decade, there has been a sharp increase in plastic surgery for men. A 2018 American Society of Plastic Surgeons report showed a 29 percent jump in cosmetic procedures performed on men since 2000. In fact, the same report revealed that a total of 1.3 million men had work done in just 2018 alone.

Among many of these procedures is the ever-growing trend of silicone implants for men. One of the Country’s leading plastic surgeons, Dr. Douglas S. Steinbrech, estimated that his offices (both in Los Angeles and New York City) have reported upwards of 430 percent uptick in requests for muscle gel implants since 2013.

Often manufactured from medical-grade silicone, body contouring implants offer long-term solutions for men seeking enhancements to their physique. While it’s common for men to see increased muscle gain with even the slightest dedication to a diet and exercise program, others struggle to see results no matter how hard they work–whether it be due to poor genetics or health concerns.

For those who are unfamiliar, synthetic silicone is named for the polymers belonging to the element silicon. Most medical-grade silicone is sold by manufacturers in either a solid or liquid implant. These are the top 10 types of silicone implants for men today.

Body Implants

1. Pectoral Implant

Perhaps the most common silicone implantation for men is the pectoral (or pec) implant, used to give male patients greater mass and definition in the chest. Believe it or not, this procedure is long-proven, having been effective for post-cancer surgery in men for decades. Today, silicone pectoral implants are among the most popular options for men seeking cosmetic enhancement to their chest region. This implant is placed below the pectoralis muscle, giving the patient a desirable, more natural look. In many cases, the surgeon may use dissolvable sutures, and the scarring is minimal or non-visible.

2. Gluteal Implant

Another popular procedure is the gluteal (or buttocks) implant. It’s not uncommon for men to have a deficiency of fat in the buttocks region, and gluteal augmentation offers male patients a fuller, more balanced look. While some men opt for fat injections or transfers, a silicone implant, in this case, offers a more permanent solution to a lack of fat in the buttocks.

3. Calf Implant

The calves are often one of the muscles men struggle to grow the most, regardless of their level of weight training. Calves are often influenced by a man’s genetics, which is precisely why this type of silicone implant has become popular among men in the 21st century. Calf augmentation is done by creating a pocket between the muscle lining and the muscle itself. Following surgery, the silicone is eventually engulfed in the scar tissue pocket, where it remains for life.

4. Deltoid Implant

The deltoid, or shoulder muscle, is another area men have recently chosen to augment. This procedure increases bulk and definition in the patient’s upper arm. Once used to treat injuries caused by trauma, silicone deltoid implants are now safely used for enhancement of the shoulder. Like many other implants, shoulder implants can be customized to fit the patient’s desired look and muscle definition. The deltoid implant procedure is typically less invasive than most and takes around two hours to complete.

5. Bicep & Tricep Implants

For some men, a decade of tricep pulldowns and bicep curls won’t help them achieve the arm definition they seek. Bicep and tricep silicone is carved custom to fit each individual and is among the most visually beneficial implants for men. These implants are inserted into a pocket of the arm and in most cases are permanent.

6. Forearm Implant

Like the calf, the forearm is one of the more difficult muscles for men to build naturally, especially when factoring in poor genetics. The best candidates for forearm augmentation are men who have large, defined upper arm mass but are lacking in the forearm. This silicone carving implant is more subtle but offers the patient a more balanced, proportional look. Forearm implants are inserted via a small incision and positioned in the arm’s soft tissue and remain permanently in place.

7. Six-Pack Implants

Many men often struggle to visible abs even with the most rigorous core training. This is likely due to the fact that most won’t see their abdominal muscle unless they tailor their diets to reflect this goal. However, even some men who diet properly will not see the results they strive for. One of the more modern implant procedures is the silicone six-pack, which is an alternative to abdominal etching (which removes excess fat stores). The six-pack implant though is placed in a series that provides a much more defined look than etching, especially when combined with liposuction.

Facial Implants

8. Chin Implant

A popular alternative to dermal fillers, a chin implant offers patients a permanent solution to augmentation. This implant is often used to repair trauma-related injuries and genetic deficiencies but has also been frequently selected by male patients who want to correct a genetically weak chin. In many cases, these implants are fully-customizable and help patients achieve life-altering results.

9. Malar Implant

Better known as a cheek implant, malar implants have become popular for both men and women in the cosmetic space who have a weak facial bone structure. Unlike the chin implant, these are used primarily for aesthetic purposes but yield good results as well.

10. Nasal Implant

Nasal silicone implants are used as a cartilage substitute. This augmentation is different in that, it is used in the shaping (or re-shaping) of the nose. Silicone is ideal for nasal implantation due to its ease of insertion (and removal) in nose bridge lifting. Nasal implants are typically softer than other facial implants as such to mock the appearance and feel of cartilage. \
