Cheek Implant for Men in NYC

What is a Cheek Implant?

Cheek implant surgery is often performed to accentuate the cheekbones and improve the appearance of a “flattened” face. There are 3 types of cheek implants which include malar, sub-malar, or both. These implants are placed directly onto the bone, giving the cheek a greater volume and projection. A cheek implant also tightens skin, resulting in a more sculpted, youthful look. Dr. Steinbrech performs cheek implant surgery at his fully-accredited NYC surgical center alone or in conjunction with other procedures such as chin implant surgery to achieve more desirable facial symmetry. Conversely, patients may also choose facial fat injections as an alternative to synthetic cheek implants.

How is Cheek Implant Surgery Performed?

Prior to the cheek implant procedure, your surgeon will help you choose a customizable implant that best suits your situation and desired look. Using a local anesthetic, tiny incisions (of only about 1 tenth of an inch) are made near the cheeks, under the eye, or most commonly, above the gum line. From there, the implant is inserted into either the malar or sub-malar region depending on the goal of surgery. The incisions are closed up with sutures following the procedure’s completion. The full surgery may take anywhere from 1 to 2 hours. All implants require a confidential consultation with Dr. Steinbrech prior to surgery. Each implant is created by Dr. Steinbrech’s team using medical-grade material that mimics the look and feel of natural bone.

Who is a Good Candidate for Cheek Implant Surgery?

The best candidates for cheek augmentation surgery are patients seeking correction of an indistinct or weak cheekbone structure. Cheek implants are often chosen because they offer dramatic yet subtle results. As men age, they lose natural volume in their cheeks and face which can create a “hollow” look. Synthetic cheek implants are also ideal for patients seeking to reverse undesirable facial contours due to genetics. Men in good health are typically good candidates for cheek implants, especially those looking to improve:

  • Deep nasolabial folds
  • Hollow cheeks
  • Sunken under eyes
  • Aging facial skin
  • Sagging jowls

Recovery Time

During recovery, patients are able to return home the same day. Though some moderate swelling around the cheekbones can persist for 2 to 3 days, this usually subsides thereafter. After the 2 week mark, visible signs of swelling should be resolved entirely. However, it may take up a month for all swelling to fully disappear. Dr. Steinbrech may prescribe medication or anti-inflammatories following surgery to make one’s recovery time more comfortable. Sutures in the mouth dissolve but patients are required to make minor adjustments to their oral hygiene routine as the incisions heal. In addition, it is advised that patients stick to a soft diet for the first day. Following this, it is recommended to avoid sharp or hard foods for 1 to 2 months.

Chin Implant for Men in NYC

What is a Chin Implant?

Chin implant surgery, or Mentoplasty, is the process of placing a medical-grade implant into the chin in order to improve the contours of the face. A weak or unpronounced chin is often the culprit of poor facial symmetry which potentially makes one’s nose appear larger than it actually is. A chin implant corrects these deficiencies. Dr. Steinbrech uses extended anatomic silicone implants that can be customized to meet each patient’s individual goals with the latest state-of-the-art shape techniques. Once completed, the implant provides a permanent solution for men looking for a more chiseled and masculine chin. Mentoplasty can be performed alone or in conjunction with other procedures such as Rhinoplasty and Jaw Implants to achieve more desirable facial proportions dependent upon the patient’s needs.

How is Chin Implant Surgery Performed?

Chin implant surgery is typically a fast procedure, taking 30 minutes to an hour to perform. All patients will be given a local anesthetic by a board-certified anesthesiologist chosen by Dr. Steinbrech for safety and comfort. Implants are inserted via a small incision in the patient’s natural crease line below the chin. Scars from this incision are often not visible following the surgery. Underlying or excess tissue is also removed during the procedure, allowing space for the implant to be placed on the mental protuberance (chin bone). All implants require a confidential consultation with Dr. Steinbrech prior to surgery.

*State-of-the-art Implants are made from a medical-grade material that feels like natural bone. They come in all shapes and sizes so that they can be tailored to the individual’s needs.

Who is a Good Candidate for a Chin Implant?

Chin augmentation is used to eliminate a receding or unpronounced chin. In this case, a synthetic implant is best for clients who want to improve their facial projection or balance. Candidacy is determined based on a patient’s health following a confidential consultation with Dr. Steinbrech at his NYC practice. Altering the appearance of the chin can greatly improve a man’s facial symmetry, particularly as it relates to the chin and nose. Mentoplasty is ideal for men looking to improve a:

  • Fleshy neck
  • Pointed chin
  • Prominent nose
  • Weak Chin
  • Recessed or double chin

Recovery Time

Due to small incisions made during chin augmentation, there may be mild discomfort following surgery. This begins to decrease after 3 days and can be diffused with oral medications and anti-inflammatories. After approximately a week post-procedure, most pain will have typically subsided. Minimal swelling is expected and patients may need to sleep with their head elevated for 2 to 3 weeks following chin implant surgery. Dr. Steinbrech advises that strenuous activity be avoided for up to 2 weeks.

10 Types of Silicone Implants for Men

Over the last decade, there has been a sharp increase in plastic surgery for men. A 2018 American Society of Plastic Surgeons report showed a 29 percent jump in cosmetic procedures performed on men since 2000. In fact, the same report revealed that a total of 1.3 million men had work done in just 2018 alone.

Among many of these procedures is the ever-growing trend of silicone implants for men. One of the Country’s leading plastic surgeons, Dr. Douglas S. Steinbrech, estimated that his offices (both in Los Angeles and New York City) have reported upwards of 430 percent uptick in requests for muscle gel implants since 2013.

Often manufactured from medical-grade silicone, body contouring implants offer long-term solutions for men seeking enhancements to their physique. While it’s common for men to see increased muscle gain with even the slightest dedication to a diet and exercise program, others struggle to see results no matter how hard they work–whether it be due to poor genetics or health concerns.

For those who are unfamiliar, synthetic silicone is named for the polymers belonging to the element silicon. Most medical-grade silicone is sold by manufacturers in either a solid or liquid implant. These are the top 10 types of silicone implants for men today.

Body Implants

1. Pectoral Implant

Perhaps the most common silicone implantation for men is the pectoral (or pec) implant, used to give male patients greater mass and definition in the chest. Believe it or not, this procedure is long-proven, having been effective for post-cancer surgery in men for decades. Today, silicone pectoral implants are among the most popular options for men seeking cosmetic enhancement to their chest region. This implant is placed below the pectoralis muscle, giving the patient a desirable, more natural look. In many cases, the surgeon may use dissolvable sutures, and the scarring is minimal or non-visible.

2. Gluteal Implant

Another popular procedure is the gluteal (or buttocks) implant. It’s not uncommon for men to have a deficiency of fat in the buttocks region, and gluteal augmentation offers male patients a fuller, more balanced look. While some men opt for fat injections or transfers, a silicone implant, in this case, offers a more permanent solution to a lack of fat in the buttocks.

3. Calf Implant

The calves are often one of the muscles men struggle to grow the most, regardless of their level of weight training. Calves are often influenced by a man’s genetics, which is precisely why this type of silicone implant has become popular among men in the 21st century. Calf augmentation is done by creating a pocket between the muscle lining and the muscle itself. Following surgery, the silicone is eventually engulfed in the scar tissue pocket, where it remains for life.

4. Deltoid Implant

The deltoid, or shoulder muscle, is another area men have recently chosen to augment. This procedure increases bulk and definition in the patient’s upper arm. Once used to treat injuries caused by trauma, silicone deltoid implants are now safely used for enhancement of the shoulder. Like many other implants, shoulder implants can be customized to fit the patient’s desired look and muscle definition. The deltoid implant procedure is typically less invasive than most and takes around two hours to complete.

5. Bicep & Tricep Implants

For some men, a decade of tricep pulldowns and bicep curls won’t help them achieve the arm definition they seek. Bicep and tricep silicone is carved custom to fit each individual and is among the most visually beneficial implants for men. These implants are inserted into a pocket of the arm and in most cases are permanent.

6. Forearm Implant

Like the calf, the forearm is one of the more difficult muscles for men to build naturally, especially when factoring in poor genetics. The best candidates for forearm augmentation are men who have large, defined upper arm mass but are lacking in the forearm. This silicone carving implant is more subtle but offers the patient a more balanced, proportional look. Forearm implants are inserted via a small incision and positioned in the arm’s soft tissue and remain permanently in place.

7. Six-Pack Implants

Many men often struggle to visible abs even with the most rigorous core training. This is likely due to the fact that most won’t see their abdominal muscle unless they tailor their diets to reflect this goal. However, even some men who diet properly will not see the results they strive for. One of the more modern implant procedures is the silicone six-pack, which is an alternative to abdominal etching (which removes excess fat stores). The six-pack implant though is placed in a series that provides a much more defined look than etching, especially when combined with liposuction.

Facial Implants

8. Chin Implant

A popular alternative to dermal fillers, a chin implant offers patients a permanent solution to augmentation. This implant is often used to repair trauma-related injuries and genetic deficiencies but has also been frequently selected by male patients who want to correct a genetically weak chin. In many cases, these implants are fully-customizable and help patients achieve life-altering results.

9. Malar Implant

Better known as a cheek implant, malar implants have become popular for both men and women in the cosmetic space who have a weak facial bone structure. Unlike the chin implant, these are used primarily for aesthetic purposes but yield good results as well.

10. Nasal Implant

Nasal silicone implants are used as a cartilage substitute. This augmentation is different in that, it is used in the shaping (or re-shaping) of the nose. Silicone is ideal for nasal implantation due to its ease of insertion (and removal) in nose bridge lifting. Nasal implants are typically softer than other facial implants as such to mock the appearance and feel of cartilage. \

Beauty Is A Gift Every Holiday

12339467_954090584679922_4914753576428557265_o (1)Male Plastic Surgery is a fading stigma… So why not give the man in your life the gift which keeps on giving? Providing a man the freedom to achieve his ultimate aesthetic goals allows him to regain an edge on the competition, feel young, confident, and look his most powerful self!

Getting a bit of work done is no longer something to hide; celebrities and even regular men and women proudly tell the world.  The popularity of male plastic surgery is on the rise. Let’s take a quick look at a few of the driving factors.

Minimally Invasive Options

Cosmetic surgery used to involve big cuts, long scars and missed work for recovery, but things are changing. Minimally invasive treatments /procedures greatly exceed the number of surgical treatments performed each year. For example, last year, there were almost 14 million minimally invasive cosmetic treatments, compared with just 1.6 million cosmetic surgical procedures performed in the U.S. Botox alone saw a record setting 6.7 million treatments performed.

The strategy, customization and level of invasiveness make cosmetic before and afters more accessible and desired. They often require a shorter recovery period than their surgical alternatives and tend to be more affordable. Best of all, the results are more subtle than surgery, allowing people to look better without making a drastic or overwhelming change. Minimally invasive options like injectables, body contouring and IPL make cosmetic surgery appeal to the masses and perfect choices to get through the holidays and beyond!

  • Botox– Botox is the most popular cosmetic treatment in the U.S. and for good reason. It can smooth away wrinkles and leave your skin looking refreshed. Treatment takes just a few minutes with results that last 3-4 months. To look party perfect with Botox, plan on receiving treatment at least 7 days before your first holiday party. You’ll enjoy the results of this treatment through the New Year.  Dysport is a similar treatment option.
  • Injectable Fillers– Another great rejuvenating option is a dermal filler treatment. These injectable fillers add volume, fill in wrinkles, etc. Treatment is quick and well tolerated with no downtime. Injectable fillers can even be used to plump up the lips for a non-surgical lip augmentation.

For those surgical options that are available, results are looking better than ever. Breast augmentation (gynecomastia) looks surprisingly natural and a facelift no longer looks tight and pulled. New methods and highly advanced surgical innovations mean successful results whether you opt for the minimal, mild or the surgical options.

Whether it is the ultimate, sculpted body of his dreams which awaits him, or a non-invasive injectable or technique taking years off of his face, cosmetic enhancement can be the perfect package this holiday season. Get a jump start for spring (the season of renewel), by undergoing a transformation now. Turning back time, starts before the clock strikes midnight this New Years! What are you waiting for?

The Four Types of Men Who Get Plastic Surgery and the Best Procedures For Them in NYC

As Featured on ForMen.com

Logo-with-tag

It’s a huge misconception that plastic surgery is for women. According to the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), the number of cosmetic procedures for men has increased by more than 106% between 1997 and 2012, with the most common procedures being liposuction, rhinoplasty (nose job), eyelid surgery, gynescomastia (removal of breast tissue), and ear shaping.

Dr. Douglas Steinbrech, a renown Manhattan-based plastic surgeon, told Business Insider, that men want plastic surgery for two reasons: to look good and stay competitive in the job market.

RELATED: Guide To Men’s Cosmetic Surgery Procedures

On his all-male plastic surgery website, he outlines four “types” of men that he says typically come in for surgery, and the best procedures for them:

  • The Male Model: He wants jawline augmentation, “hi-def liposuction” to show off his abs, pectoral implants and gluteal implants.

Steinbrech: “You take an average, good-looking kid, and you enhance his jaw, elongate his chin, enhance his cheekbones, and suddenly he looks like the cover of Vogue.”

  • The Body Builder: He wants similar procedures as the male model, but wants to look more muscular. Steinbrech says he also often removes the fatty tissue around the breasts from steroids.
  • The CEO or Board Member: These men are at the top of their career and they feel young and confident, but they’re worried they don’t look it. Steinbrech gives them the “Forbes Facelift”: a necklift, eyelift, jawline re-contouring, and perhaps liposuction as well.
Steinbrech: “I tell these men I want to leave a little bit of wrinkles — since wrinkles are sexy and trustworthy.”
  • The Athletic Dad: These men are married with kids and have probably put on 15 pounds. He’s in his 40s and he’s thinking, “Man, I used to look so good in college.” Steinbrech says these men typically go for jawline re-contouring, liposuction, and a small eyelift.

ForMen takeaway: Plastic surgery is becoming more commonplace among men and there are more and more plastic surgeons out there specializing in male procedures. There’s no reason to feel embarrassed these days if you’re considering plastic surgery – you are one of many!

Help! I need to go in for a non-invasive facial plastic surgery procedure, NOW. The party season is about to begin, and you are still sporting fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes and the mouth and on the forehead. The lines on the neck too seem to have become more pronounced. You really need to go in for a non-invasive facial plastic surgery because there is no time for downtime.

What Are the Benefits of a Non-Invasive Facial Plastic Surgery?

A non-invasive facial plastic surgery has no downtime. Procedures like BOTOX® and dermal fillers like Restylane are performed on an outpatient basis and are over within a few minutes. You can go back home the same day. Because no incisions are made, you are generally not given anesthesia. Nor are there scars to conceal after the procedure or allergic reactions to manage. The results are almost instantaneous and last for up to 6 months. This means that if you get the procedure now, you will sport a smooth, wrinkle-free, younger look throughout the next party season.

BOTOX®: A Popular Non-Invasive Male Plastic Surgery in New York

BOTOX® is a popular non-invasive male plastic surgery procedure in New York. In a competitive city like New York, downtime might translate to missed deadlines and lost opportunities to do business. You cannot afford that, but you also want to look good. BOTOX® is the way to look good in a jiffy.

BOTOX® treatments not only reverse signs of aging like fine lines and wrinkles on the face and neck but also prevent existing lines from deepening and new lines from forming for up to 6 months. It is a painless procedure during which you receive a series of tiny injections of BOTOX®, which is a form of pure protein that is absolutely safe for your skin. The protein relaxes the muscles on your face and neck, so you lose the wrinkled look.

Restylane: Look Younger for Longer

Restylane is also a popular non-invasive facial surgery procedure for men in New York.

During this procedure, a synthetic gel containing hyaluronic acid is injected into the skin. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally-occurring substance that is also found inside our bodies. The gel carries this acid to the deeper layers of the skin where it integrates with the tissues. The acid attracts and binds to water molecules and helps plump up the tissues and smooth the fine lines and wrinkles. The gel remains inside the skin for many months, so the results are long-lasting. You might experience some redness and swelling at the site where you are injected with the gel. But these symptoms go within a day or two.

And if you are concerned, the gel used in the Restylane treatment is fully bio-compatible and not animal-based.

The party season is about to kick in, and there are sundry things to do—buy gifts for your loved ones, put up decorations, shop for clothes, plan a getaway, and look good. Wouldn’t you just love it if the looking-good part got over effortlessly? Non-invasive facial cosmetic surgery procedures like BOTOX® and Restylane are ideal if you want to look younger within a short period. These non-invasive procedures produce equally impressive results like any other surgical methods to take the years off your face.

Halloween is just a few days away, and before you know it, Thanksgiving Day will be on us. It is now the right time to get the low-down on CoolSculpting, a non-invasive male plastic surgery procedure to lose unwanted fat. This festive season, you want to gorge on candies, double apple pies, roast turkey dripping with gravy, pecan pies, and mud pies without worrying about your waistline. You will probably pile on some unwanted pounds, but you want to feel assured that you can also lose them afterwards, and that too, without getting carved up. Then you will definitely want to know about CoolSculpting, an FDA-cleared male plastic surgery procedure to lose weight and get a sculpted body without going under the knife.

What is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is based on hard science. Our body cells freeze and die when exposed to extremely cold temperatures. During CoolSculpting, the surgeon uses a special device to freeze the fat cells in those areas of your body from where you want to lose fat. The fat cells die and are absorbed naturally by the body over the next 3-4 months. Do not worry; your surgeon will use a precision instrument that targets only the fat cells and does not harm surrounding cells, tissues, nerves, and muscles.

And if you are wondering, here is the clincher. You won’t be put under anesthesia. You won’t be cut upon. There are no knives and needles involved in this procedure. It is absolutely non-invasive.

You will be wide awake during this hour-long procedure and can even catch up on work or with your friends while your surgeon works away. You will just feel a mild, tingling sensation, like what you feel when an ice pack is applied against the skin. Actually, the cold temperature numbs any sensation of pain.

Because CoolSculpting is a non-invasive procedure, there is no downtime. There are no scars as well. Your skin might turn reddish where the cold temperature is applied, but this will go away within a few minutes to a few hours after the procedure.

Why is CoolSculpting Ideal for You?

CoolSculpting is the ideal way to lose fat if you are uncomfortable being gassed and cut open. It is also the ideal non-invasive fat-loss plastic surgery procedure for those men who don’t have the time to accommodate downtime in their schedules.

New York City is a competitive place to work in. Whether you hold a regular day job or own and run your own business, you cannot afford to slow down. A downtime means you have to take time off from work, forego a lunch meeting with a potential client, or lose out on other money-making opportunities.

Finally, CoolSculpting is the ideal fat-loss procedure to undergo when you want to look good right away. Remember, you have to get ready for Christmas and New Year festivities right after Halloween and Thanksgiving. Do you want to be bothered by the unpleasant side effects of a surgery then?

CoolSculpting lets you enjoy the festive season and dig into your favorite foods without worrying where the cakes and casseroles go to. This non-invasive male plastic surgery procedure is absolutely safe. It is ideal for not only those who don’t want to go under the knife but also those who can’t go undergo a surgical procedure because they can’t afford a downtime. Liberate yourself this Halloween and enjoy the festivities like a true foodie.

Bicep Implants: Carve Out a Superhero Look This October

Flex Your Muscles After Bicep Implants (Image courtesy bycfotografem on Pixabay via CC0 Public Domain license)

Flex Your Muscles After Bicep Implants (Image courtesy bycfotografem on Pixabay via CC0 Public Domain license)

Bicep implants give you more than well-sculpted and brawny upper arms. A bicep implant surgery also gives you a well-proportioned muscular look that is so essential when you want to look like a superhero.

What is a Bicep Implants Surgery?

During a bicep implant surgery, the surgeon makes an incision in the underarm area to create a groove for the implants. A skillful surgeon can position these implants exactly within the folds of the soft tissues, so they remain secure. The scar tissues that develop during the healing process, additionally, help secure the implants and prevent them moving around or getting dislodged when you move your arms.

Your surgeon will choose the shape and size of the bicep implant, so your muscular arms look proportionate to the rest of your body. The surgery is a minimally invasive procedure and is complete in just a few hours. It is usually performed on an outpatient basis and you can return home the same day.

The results of bicep implant surgery are visible immediately after the process. You will notice an improvement in the contours and mass of your upper arms. Take a look at a few bicep implants before-and-after photographs; you will be impressed.

Bicep Implant Recovery

Like any other surgical procedure, bicep implants also can produce side effects like bruising, swelling, and pain. The bruising and the swelling will go away on their own within a few weeks after the surgery. Your surgeon will prescribe oral medicines to help you cope with the pain.

During the bicep implant recovery period, you cannot raise your arms in the first two days after the surgery. After that you can resume your normal daily activities. However, you cannot lift heavy weights or do strenuous gym workouts till you are completely healed, which may take 2-3 weeks.

The Benefits of Bicep Implant

Bicep implant surgery benefits all those men who have been trying unsuccessfully to bulk up their arms for many months. How much muscle mass you develop depends to some extent on your genes. So not all men can hope to have muscular and well-defined arms just by working out. Bicep implants help these men beef up their torsos to balance out the rest of their bodies.

Sometime hand or arm injuries can limit the amount of weight you can lift. Bicep implants help you add muscle mass without working out like a maniac.

Bicep implant surgery is a quick and hassle-free way to add bulk and definition to your upper arms. It is a cost-effective procedure as well because you don’t have to spend additional hours at the gym. What is more, you can devote the time you save by not working out extra, to money-making projects. Bicep implants in New York is a popular plastic surgery amongst men who want to look good, feel good, and do good without sweating out.

October is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, a time to spare a thought for all those brave kids who are bravely battling the pains in their disease-ravaged bodies. Bicep implants give you the macho look you desired; now it is time to show your sensitive, caring persona. Don a superhero costume that shows off your ripped, shredded body, take part in the various awareness drives organized by your community, and give joy and hope to the kids to motivate them to fight on.
